Restructuring in the UBC's Midwestern District

Restructuring in the UBC's Midwestern District

January 23, 2024

Effective January 23, 2024, Locals 264, 344, and 2283 have been dissolved and a new local union, Local 231, has been chartered. All members, geographic and trade jurisdiction of the dissolved local unions will now be part of the newly established Local 231.

Additionally, effective January 23, 2024, Local 804 has dissolved and its members, geographic and trade jurisdiction will now be a part of Local 310.

This restructuring does NOT impact members wages, pension, or health care under any collective bargaining agreement and does NOT impact the apprenticeship program.

We are one Brotherhood, working together regardless of local affiliation. Restructuring has taken place across the country for many years where more than one local union has existed in one area. Please be assured that more information will be forthcoming as it becomes available and communication will be provided regarding meetings of the newly charted Local 231 where members can learn more about this restructuring. Members from dissolved Local 804 will follow Local 310’s local meeting schedule.

Please find a letter below from UBC General President Douglas J. McCarron regarding this restructuring.
